Your questions answered
What is InstaFoam?
It is a Bio based polyurethane spray that helps to reduce the
environmental impact of residential and commercial structures by
sealing and insulating in one step. A sealed thermal envelope makes
a building more energy efficient, healthier, comfortable and
durable than traditionally insulated structures.
InstaFoam also integrates rapidly renewable ingredients as a
replacement for a portion of the petroleum in many of our
insulation products without hindering their performance.
InstaFoam is quick and easy to install, providing cost effective
insulation solutions for both commercial and domestic buildings.
InstaFoam is excellent for insulating hard to reach areas, such as
the floor and roof areas of Park Homes.
What makes InstaFoam so
effective?
InstaFoam is effective in air sealing and insulating because it
is applied as a liquid and expands to many times its original
liquid size in seconds. As it expands, it fills cavities and voids
to create a sealed thermal envelope. InstaFoam creates a highly
effective seal against air infiltration, the prime source of energy
loss in a structure. InstaFoam adheres to any clean, dry surface
and will not sag or settle. InstaFoam is quick and easy to install,
with a spray application that makes it ideal for hard to reach
areas.
What is InstaFoam made
from?
InstaFoam is manufactured to ISO 9001:2008 quality standards
from polyols produced through recycling of plastics (62%) combined
with sustainably sourced, ecologically sound, castor oil and
contains the highest percentage of bio renewables on the
market.
Does InstaFoam contain
formaldehyde?
No, it is completely free of formaldehyde.
Is spray foam insulation
safe?
Yes, as it is installed by InstaFoam approved fitters using
appropriate safety equipment and wearing protective clothing. It is
water blown and uses no chemical propellants.
How long does InstaFoam Insulation
last?
InstaFoam will maintain its properties throughout the life of
the building.
How is InstaFoam
installed?
InstaFoam is installed by our network of approved installers.
This ensures that the highest standards of quality &
workmanship are maintained.
Can homeowners install InstaFoam
Insulation themselves?
No, only trained professionals can install InstaFoam, because of
the specialist equipment needed to install it properly. Snug
Network independent certified installers are fully trained to
ensure that product is properly installed.
Does InstaFoam adhere to metal or
wood studs?
InstaFoam adheres well to almost any material, especially wood
and steel studs, which are commonly found in residential and
commercial structures.
Are there any compatibility concerns
with other building materials?
InstaFoam is stable in the presence of most solvents found in
binders, bituminous materials, wood preservatives and sealers. It
is resistant to facers containing plasticizers, fuel, mineral oil,
weak acid and weak bases, which are typically found in residential
and commercial construction materials.
Since InstaFoam is made using
renewable, natural oils, do rodents and insects eat the
insulation?
No. InstaFoam Insulation provides no food value for rodents or
insects.
Does InstaFoam support bacteria of
fungal growth?
No, InstaFoam products are inert substances that do not provide
a food source for mould.
Will InstaFoam Insulation
burn?
All InstaFoam Insulation products are Class I fire rated. They
will char but will not sustain a flame. Polyurethane foams are
combustible materials, which means that they will burn in the
presence of a flame. Flame retardants are added to the product to
ensure that they meet or exceed the applicable building code
requirements for this type of product.
