InstaGroup was engaged by Mears Plc to deliver a large-scale programme of fabric and renewable energy upgrades across 238 properties in South Cambridgeshire. This multi-phase project – delivered on behalf of South Cambridgeshire District Council – aims to improve the energy efficiency of the council’s housing stock while lowering energy bills for tenants.

Project Scope

Total Properties: 238 across five phases

Upcoming Phases: 180 additional properties in Phases 4 & 5

Our Approach

We focused on:

  • Seamless delivery under PAS 2035, working closely with Mears’ Retrofit Assessors, Designers, and Coordinators
  • Conducting all initial technical surveys and overseeing full project lifecycle from assessment to install
  • Daily coordination with Mears’ Resident Liaison Officers (RLOs) and other trade teams
  • Direct tenant engagement to maintain satisfaction and minimise disruption

Moving Forward

As a result of the success of our work in South Cambridgeshire, we have secured a contract to work with Milton Keynes Council delivering 350 cavity wall extractions of failed insulation and full reinstatement using InstaGroup’s own branded Cavity Wall Insulation.
