Is there a government grant for heat pumps?

Yes. The UK government offers support through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, which provides £7,500 towards the installation of an air source or ground source heat pump for eligible homeowners in England and Wales. The grant helps reduce the upfront cost of switching from gas, oil or LPG boilers to low-carbon heating. Your MCS-certified installer applies for the grant on your behalf, and the value is deducted directly from the installation cost.

Is heat pump funding legitimate?

Yes. Heat pump funding in the UK is legitimate and available through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, which is a government initiative. The scheme is administered by Ofgem, and the grant is applied for by an MCS-certified installer, such as InstaGroup, who deducts the funding directly from the cost of the installation. Eligibility requirements do apply, including property and insulation criteria.

Do I qualify for the £7,500 heat pump grant?

You may qualify for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme if you own the property (as a homeowner or landlord), the home is located in England or Wales, and you are replacing an existing fossil fuel heating system such as a gas, oil or LPG boiler with a low-carbon system like a heat pump. The property must also have a valid EPC with no outstanding loft or cavity wall insulation recommendations.

How do I apply for the heat pump grant?

You do not apply for the grant yourself. Under the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, you first contact an MCS-certified installer to assess your home and provide a quote. If your property is eligible, the installer will apply for the grant on your behalf through the scheme administrator, Ofgem, and the grant value will be deducted directly from the installation cost. You will simply be asked to confirm your details and consent once the application is submitted.

How do I get a grant for solar panels?

The customer must qualify for a government-backed scheme like Warm homes: Local Grant, which are primarily for low-income households or those with energy-inefficient home (EPC rating D or lower).

Can you earn money from solar panels?

Money is made when excess power generated from solar panels is sent back to the grid, after the electrical consumption in the house has been supplied firstly.
