Wallacespace required new engineered oak flooring for one of its latest facilities, a converted Victorian warehouse in Spitalfields, east London. Wallacespace provides serviced off-site meeting spaces for training, events, seminars, conferences and meetings, and its clients are looking for a clean, smart, high quality environment. InstaLay was chosen for the flooring installation as it can deliver a rapid transformation along with immediate usability.
The InstaLay 25 was simply loose laid over the raised access subfloor. The tongue and groove oak flooring was installed without using glue between the joints. As the boards were positioned in place, the release film was pulled from under the planks exposing the adhesive membrane. The planks were secured by applying pressure to fully activate the adhesive.
As InstaLay needs no messy wet adhesives, the oak flooring installation was very quick and clean. The new floor could be walked on and used immediately.
Manufactured from recycled rubber crumb granules, InstaLay supports reduced environmental impact. This oak flooring project recycled 196 car tyres or 29 truck tyres. The system provides both excellent underfoot comfort and outstanding acoustic performance, both of which were important factors in this commercial setting.
The Weitzer Parkett Oak flooring combined with InstaLay gave the office spaces a quality look and feel. Ease and speed of installation meant all facilities could rapidly be in full use.
