Challenge
InstaGroup originally started working with Silva Homes in February 2023, who were then acquired by the Abri group. We have been working with Abri Homes to deliver £2.8 million on the Social Housing Fund Wave 2.2 across the Bracknell area. With limited data on the energy performance of their housing stock, Abri required a comprehensive assessment to inform their funding bid and future retrofit strategy.
Our Solution
InstaGroup’s unique turnkey solution provided support across all stages of the project for Abri. We worked in close collaboration with Abri’s internal team to build the funding bid for submission to the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ).
InstaGroup’s expertise provided a comprehensive strategy to conduct full retrofit assessments, design and coordination in compliance with PAS 2035 regulations. We modeled energy efficiency measures across Abri’s wider 6,000 home portfolio, tailoring improvement options for each property to ensure the best possible outcome for both Abri and the Residents.
Delivery
We worked closely with Abri to ensure the least disruption possible for residents, keeping them educated and informed of the positive changes happening in their homes. So far by April 2025, across 238 properties we had completed:
-
- 129 Fabric Installations
- 198 Solar PV systems Installations
- 133 Homes with Improved Ventilation
We’re really pleased to be working with InstaGroup, they’ve done absolutely brilliantly with the targets that we have given them, and our residents are really happy with the services that have been provided

Results
We were pleased to hear the positive impact this is already having on residents, Mrs Farry, a resident in one of Abri’s homes in Bracknell, is already reaping the rewards of energy efficiency “The house is going to be warmer in the winter which is very much needed as I’m a carer. The gentleman I take care of has already said to me how much warmer the house is, so it’s helping with health benefits as well.”
Maximising the funding opportunities available to help as many people as possible was extremely important to both us and Abri. This has resulted in being ahead of agreed timelines and below expected cost, allowing Abri to increase the number of homes they can reach. Lower energy bills, warmer homes, and happier residents are just some of the positive impacts we are already delighted to see – bringing us one step closer to achieving the UK’s Net Zero goals.
